Abstract of the Lecture:
This lecture will discuss how we can get inspiration from the perspectives of the new cultural history for more understandings of the history of Chinese politics.
Brief Introduction of the Lecturer:
Kuang-che Pan is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica Taiwan. He also is the Director of Hu Shih Memorial Hall of Academia Sinica now. His research interest is the intellectual history of modern China and Taiwan. His important contribution: In Search of Western Learning: A History of Reading in Late Qing China (1833-1898) was published in 2014; and his book draft “Washington Myth” and the Political Culture of Modern China (in Chinese) got Research Grant of Academia Historica (Taiwan) in 2009.
