Abstract of the Lecture:
Germany has presented a vivid culture of memory after the Second World War. The public medium made a big contribution to it. Also the politics and the professional historians played their active roles for it. The interaction between these three forces formed an excellent example of a historical reflection for the rest of the world. In this lecture, we are going to have a closer look of all their activities with the background of the post war socio-economical development in Germany.
Brief Introduction of the Lecturer:
Hu Chang-Tze was born in Nanjing China 1948 and grown up in Taiwan. Having studied history at the Taiwan University for Bachelor and Master degreed, he came to Germany with DAAD award 1976. There he got PhD in history at the Ruhr University Bochum 1981 and was professor at the Tunghai University in Taiwan. 1989/1990 as Fulbright visiting scholar he was at SUNY Baffalo with Professor G. Iggers. Then he had acted as Science Attache in Bonn and London. He was involved in research project of historiography and invited as Guest Professor at the Thunghai University 2013-2015.
