Abstract of the Lecture:
In the past 30 years, there have been new discussions on the “three years of natural disasters” in the late 1950s to 1960s. For example, according to the data and documents compiled by the relevant business departments, the situation, disaster degree and environmental background of this stage are discussed from different disciplines. Others have suggested that there is no “three-year disaster”. This report comprehensively reviews the above discussion and uses the current meteorological disaster operation platform of the CountryFlood control and drought relief Headquarters to recalculate and evaluate historical meteorological data,Make an assessment.
Brief Introduction of the Lecturer:
XU Hailiang, Professor Senior Engineer. Long been engaged in disaster prevention and mitigation and disaster law research, has been in the Provinces and cities flood control and drought relief department long-term work, retired after being hired as a visiting researcher of Water Resources Disaster Reduction Center. To undertake research projects of the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Studies of the Ministry of Water Resources, CAS, the Academy of Social Sciences, and to write and publish a series of articles and monographs on disasters and environment. He was the Executive director of the China Disaster Prevention Association's Professional Committee on Disaster History, secretary general, and Deputy Secretary General of the Expert Committee on Natural Disaster Prediction of China Geophysical Society.
